Who am i?

I am a full-time tutor with 17 years of experience teaching the following subjects.

  • Elementary Mathematics

  • Additional Mathematics

  • Physics

  • Chemistry

  • Science (chemistry / physics)

What is my teaching philosophy?

I believe that everyone has the ability to learn and excel, but the route to success may not be the same for everyone. Hence it is important to equip students with the necessary skills to pursue the successes that they deserve in the future. I teach my students how to learn, the skills to identify what to study for and when to study. Analytic skills and a right mindset are two of the important qualities that my students will bring with them when they graduate from my classes. What can be more important than being prepared for the future?

I recognise that every student is different and a generic approach to teaching can never address the needs of all the students. Therefore, I am a big advocate for the learner centred approach to teaching. My one to one lessons are highly customised to address the difficulties each student may have.

My face to face lessons not only comprise of pen and paper activities. Hands on activities are also available for students who need a more varied teaching method to better understand the subject.

My online lessons are planned in such a way where they are engaging and require student participation. Students will not leave the lesson without learning. However, my online lessons works best when the student have access to a tablet and a digitizer (e.g. ipad with pencil or a surface pro. with pen).

Most importantly, in order to aid students with their revision, they will have access to video recordings of their lesson. Exclusive learning content will also be available to bring the students’ attention to certain learning content (e.g. commonly tested questions, answering techniques etc).

My qualifications

I have the following qualifications.

  • Masters of Education (curriculum & teaching)

  • Bachelor of Engineering with Honours (materials engineering)

  • Specialist Diploma in Applied Learning and Teaching

  • Specialist Diploma in Specific Learning Differences
